Hurricane John

On Tuesday night, our condo neighbor let us know that there was a hurricane in Acapulco and it was headed our way. I called my brother for an update on the storm. At that point it was a small storm, classified as a Category One, and it looked like it might head just a little west of us. On Wednesday, the hurricane had grown to a Category Four and had changed course a little east which put us in a direct path of the storm. Needless to say we were a little scared at that point and we thought we were going to be in for a very rough night. I took this picture on Wednesday night. Notice how calm the ocean is and this part of the bay was always rocking. Lucky for us, the hurricane turned westward Wednesday night and Hurricane John barely even rained on Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay.

On Friday morning, I found the Fox News channel. They were talking up John before it was to make landfall in Cabo. "Extensive flooding and damage in Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, and Matzatlan." Whatever, there was nothing damaged in PV and John didn't get close to Matzatlan. I hate the news and especially the major 24 hours a day news channels.
