A Slight Bathroom Accident

The bar was not impressed with my bathroom accident. They have threatened litigation.

BTS

Ashley and I saw Built To Spill a little over a week ago at the Gypsy Tea Room. It's a small venue with great sight lines throughout. As the crew was tearing down the opening bands setup, a average sized guy pushed through the crowd and walked right in front of us. He sheepishly said, "excuse me" as he went by us. I recognized him instantly as the lead singer of BTS, Doug Martsch. It happened way to fast for me to stop him and get a "blowin' up" picture with him.

The show was incredible and BTS is greatness.

Frank Black

We missed his show at the Tea Room but the reviews were not kind.

Pujols Is a Beast

*Blurry alert*
The first photo is the ball coming in to Albert Pujols and the second is the ball coming off his bat. I just happened to take a picture of a home run swing. Pujols is, in my opinion, the best hitter in baseball.

It was good times at the new Busch Stadium. The fans there were nuts for their team and I'm happy they won the World Series yesterday. Go Cards!

Attacked

Describing the man who attacked Ashley was really easy. "Officer, he was a Sumo wrestler..."

I just hope she's not pregnant with his baby.

Ashley's Crash-up Derby

Coming home from work on Friday evening Ashley was rear-ended by an Izuzu Rodeo. Ashley, who was in the middle lane, was slowing down as the traffic approached a toll booth. The lady behind her in the Rodeo never hit her brakes and hit Ashley at 60+ mph. Ashley was probably going around 20 when she was hit. The force of the impact forced Ashley's car into the car in front of her, then sent her careening across the right lane and into a wall. Her car rebounded off the wall, spun and came to rest back in the middle lane facing oncoming traffic.

Incredibly, as you can see from the damage to the car below, Ashley was not hurt very much. She was very shaken up from the ordeal and had a cut over her left eye from when she hit the steering wheel. It could have been much worse and thank God it wasn't.

A witness stopped to give her side of the story to the DPS troopers. She had a clear view of the wreck and wanted to make sure Ashley was okay first of all and make sure she gave a statement to ensure Ashley was not liable for the accident in any way.

I arrived on the scene about twenty minutes after the accident just as they were towing the Honda away. I was there to see the lady who caused the accident accuse the driver of the car that Ashley hit of faking an injury. I also had the pleasure of seeing her sign her citation for "Failure to control speed". She apologized so many times that it was getting very annoying and her apologies were hollow to me anyway because she could have caused serious injury to Ashley.

Once all the cars were towed away, the insurance information was exchanging, and the DPS Trooper told the Rodeo lady that she was at fault I took Ashley to the ER to be checked out. The triage nurse sent her to Minor Emergency and she was quickly admitted to a room. A CT scan was performed, which came back with good news, and Ashley's cut was patched with what amounts to surgical Super-Glue.

Ashley woke up this morning not feeling stiff and with a slight black-eye that has gotten worse as the day has gone on. We went out for lunch and did some light shopping. I was very self conscious about her black-eye because I was sure people thought that I had popped her a good one.

After lunch, we went to gather the rest of Ashley's things from the Honda and to say goodbye to the old car. I'm pretty sure that the car is totaled and we'll be car shopping in the near future.

Sunday update:

Ashley's eye has darkened quite a bit.

City Museum

Outdoor Climbing

The City Museum had the most incredible climbing exhibit ever. There were tunnels between a couple of planes and a fire engine. Various slides were also attached and we had a blast climbing around.

Busch Stadium

The new Cardinals' stadium is very cool.

Where's My Zoloft?

We declined their "Open House" offer.

Tron

Anyone up for a late night showing of Tron?

Pimp Of The Year

This well dressed man found his lady love and started to do his mating dance. It consisted of him bending down, as pictured, then coming half way up so he could thrust his pelvis two or three times. Combine all of the above with the fact that he was ninety-two years old and let the good times roll.

Gateway Arch

In the year 2000...

This space age rail car takes you to the top of the Arch. The car was very small and quite cramped. It was designed and built in the mid-sixties when the world was space crazy. The car reminded me of the production design elements of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Route 66

Nascar Fan

There is very little that brings Ashley more joy than Nascar and beer. Imagine when she spotted Junior's car in the Anheuser-Busch Brewery. You don't want to know what happened next.

Big Talkin' Man

He may have had a hard night but he did earn sixty bucks.
