Taste In Music

I have to question Ashley's friend Maria's musical taste. First, Ashley gets back to Dallas after spending the weekend with Maria and Ashley is telling me how much she loves the new Justin Timberlake song. Justin Freakin' Timberlake!! Second, Ashley shows me this photo of a bumpersticker on the back of Maria's truck. Dear god. Ashley wants to send her a care package of new music and I fully endorse that.

Demon Kitty Says,

I love you.

Selena Statue

Bubba has always loved Selena. We've thought about putting this picture in a little locket for Bubba. He could wear it on his collar, he calls it his necklace, and she will always be close to his heart.

The Gap Underpass Station

From this jean display you can tell that the Underpass Station Gap had a incredible sale. Take a gas mask if you go shopping here. The smell of exhaust and vagrant feet is unbelievably pungent.

Belmont Hotel

The newly renovated Belmont Hotel was built in 1946, according to Tom. We met Tom when he asked to sit in a spare chair at our table. We initially thought that he might be a homeless guy who had wandered into the bar. He is actually a very young looking 85 years old and a retired Marine plus a retired real estate broker. He has lived in Dallas his entire life and he had the inside scoop on the Belmont Hotel. He said it was very popular in the late 40's until Oak Cliff was declared totally dry. He told us several amazing stories including that he's been married five times and three of his wives were named Mary. I tried to pay for his drink but the waitress said his drink was already taken care of. As the night went on, Ashley and I started to get the feeling that he was involved in the ownership of the Belmont in some way.
