Descending

The view from over Atlanta. In an attempt to save a little cash, we booked our Puerto Vallarta trip with Delta but that included a stop in Atlanta. On our trip home, our scheduled lay over in Atlanta was 2.5 hours. That turned into six hours due to mechanical issues. We arrived in DFW at 1:30 in the AM. The next morning, we were up by seven because of the move to Junius St. Excellent decision on our part because the American non-stop flight eventually came down in price to match the Delta price AND Funjets scheduled a charter that was cheaper than all of them and non-stop.

Bubba and Pearl make a surprise apperance in Puerto Vallarta.

Nevermind that Redbook magazine sitting by my leg. There was limited reading material there. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The View From Dugarels

We ate at this little Mexican restuarant three times during our stay in Puerto Vallarta. It has great food, cheap beer, and an incredible view of the ocean.

Brad, it's just 30 pesos a minute. It's just the sort of bargain you're always looking for.

Corona Commercial, Part 2

Sadly, I did not receive a major award this time.

Condensation

Not A Corona

I ordered a Corona and the waiter brought me this beer. It may look heavenly with the sun shining through it but it tasted like ass.

Hurricane John

On Tuesday night, our condo neighbor let us know that there was a hurricane in Acapulco and it was headed our way. I called my brother for an update on the storm. At that point it was a small storm, classified as a Category One, and it looked like it might head just a little west of us. On Wednesday, the hurricane had grown to a Category Four and had changed course a little east which put us in a direct path of the storm. Needless to say we were a little scared at that point and we thought we were going to be in for a very rough night. I took this picture on Wednesday night. Notice how calm the ocean is and this part of the bay was always rocking. Lucky for us, the hurricane turned westward Wednesday night and Hurricane John barely even rained on Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay.

On Friday morning, I found the Fox News channel. They were talking up John before it was to make landfall in Cabo. "Extensive flooding and damage in Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, and Matzatlan." Whatever, there was nothing damaged in PV and John didn't get close to Matzatlan. I hate the news and especially the major 24 hours a day news channels.

View From A Pool

The condo that we stayed at in Puerto Vallarta had a awesome little pool with a sweet view of Banderas Bay.

Hazard Pay?

I read in a brochure that the minimum wage in Mexico was 50 pesos a day or around 5 bucks. I hope this dude is making more than that.

Tiger Face

When Kids Attack

Ashley and I went into this breakfast joint that advertised "air conditioned!". In Mexico, that usually means that they'll put a fan or two on the gringos. You can see that I have a fan pointed at me and there's a small boy checking it out. About ten minutes later that same kid stuck a fork in the back of the fan. This caused the fan blades to stop for a second and when he got scared he pulled the fork out and the fan spit crap all over me.
